It’s all about relativity.
Blonde, brunette, wide, lean or in-between
It’s all about specificity.
Where is individuality?
It’s somewhere caught betwixt and between
Society’s warped duality.
Oh me, oh my, the humanity.
Stop your madness.
Deflect your sadness
Lose the sameness.
Reflect in happiness.
Do you hear His voice whisper your name?
Do you feel love wrap around your heart?
“That’s what it is all about,” He says.
“It was like that from the very start.”
From word God’s wisdom He did impart
While in a garden so long ago
Adam and Eve thought the apple tart
Breaking the seal and breaking His heart.
Stop
Deflect
Lose
Reflect…
Change
A mother so innocent and young
Watched as her son grew into a man
She didn’t know what he would become
‘Til the cross placed him at God’s right hand
He smiled and said, “I too was once in.
Somewhere caught betwixt and between
And my Father said gently to me
‘Oh me, oh my, the humanity.”
“He said, ‘Son go and stop the madness.
Do what you can to deflect sadness.
Remind them I’m the only sameness
Reflecting eternal happiness.”
Jesus looked at me with a wide smile
And I looked at those standing around
While everyone marched by rank and file
I marveled at the change I had found.
