In the beginning
hovering over
the stillness of time
the Triune Voice
in harmony of love
sang light,
sang being into being.
A jewel-toned planet
flickering with life
flew like a clear high note
from the throat
of God.

All was silent in heaven.
Wrapped in a dark pall
creation spun upon itself
turning year on year
always away from its Creator,
once-shining disc
a mirror cracked and blackened
in sin’s smoke.
Love grieved.
And reached.
And planned.
iii
Down and down. . .
Everything into nothing;
Fullness emptied.
How?
To become what One is not
and yet Be,
naught but a spark
in a baby’s unfocused eye.

He was hidden
for our transgressions.
A breath in humanity’s
collective gasp,
his tiny life
was lost in the depths,
sighed into the dark
where all before had disappeared
in death.

But then—
THEN!
And
NOW!
Again exalted
Love shouts triumph
in glory upon glory:
all praise and wisdom and thanks
and honor and power and strength
to God,
and Grace,
holy Grace,
once more forever
in the highest place.

Although I think this piece was a little light on the topic, I enjoyed it.
