Sky above, blue and dotted with clouds
Seems too big to comprehend
Nearly needs a larger word
Than Spacious
Farmland stretching mile after mile
Flowing in grains amber
Ripe and ready for harvest
Wafting sweet
Mountains reaching peaks so high
Majestic and deep purple
Stand sentinel o’er
Fruited plains
America, surely you can see
God’s blessing and grace abundantly
He has showered on you and me
In a land so free
You, America, are unique
From all nations people come
Melding together in brotherhood
A golden crown
Feel, America, how wide you are
Measuring thousands of miles
Between great shining seas, Atlantic
And Pacific
Pilgrim feet that beat through wilderness
A path for freedom they made
Free, at liberty, set
In self-control
Heroes proved at strife’s high cost
Patriots dreaming of future life
Peaceful cities gleaming serene
A noble test
America, so beautiful, inspires
Poetic verse and lilting song
