Truth, justice and the WAY, are definitely under attack today. People are asking the same question Pilate asked Jesus long ago; what is truth? Pilate didn’t even realize he was looking straight into the eyes of truth. Many people today don’t realize when they are looking into the eyes of truth.
It is unpopular in today’s society to be so bold as to say that we even know what truth is. So what is truth, and can we really know it?
Christians believe that truth is enlightened knowledge about Jehovah God of the bible, which they believe is the only true God.
What does the bible declare about Him? Many things, but it was summed up in, God is love. 1 John 4:16
Jesus was the word, the truth, and love, made flesh. 1 John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jesus is the real Superman, but He was much more than a man, He was God in person.
There is no better day than today to let our lights shine; let God’s truths shine in 2009! We find out how to do that in the declarations of truth that we find in the bible, and when we do what it says, we gain the supernatural strength needed to fight for truth, justice and the WAY, even though many today do not believe there is a right WAY.
This fight is not confined to the boundaries of the USA either, but for the whole earth to take part in. Right before Pilate asked Jesus about truth, he asked, Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. John 18:37
Then in James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Some examples of being doers of the word are forgiving others, giving to the poor, honoring our parents and fellowman, being honest in word and deed, in other words, OBEYING God’s Word. It’s not merely a verbal fight; it’s much more! We must not only talk the truth, we must walk the truth.
So, truth can be rightfully represented by actions of love. Love actions reveal what truth is. Love actions reveal to the world what God is all about, and when we read the bible, we find out that God is all about love.
1 John 3: 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Our love for God, and our brotherly love are our main weapons in defeating truth’s foes. There is no better way to show forth truth than by acting it out for the whole world to see.
That’s what Jesus did. Let us do the same and live our lives fighting for truth, justice and the WAY. Let us use this super human power called, God’s love, to help all the men and women of the earth.
