The Lord is my caretaker, guide, and confidant. He’s all I need to sustain me. He causes me to rest and have peace in His wonderful presence. He steadies my life and calms my soul. He makes sure I’m heading in the right direction by lighting my path with His Word. His Word teaches me how to live holy and blameless before Him. This is so my life will bring honor to His name.
Though tragedy, sorrow, and heartache often times “rock” my world, I will not be afraid because my trust is in the Lord to always walk beside me. His great strength then becomes my own. He will not allow the enemy of my soul to even touch me. The Lord will always be there to offer encouragement and comfort to my often times hurting heart. Even death itself cannot keep me in its grasp.
I know the Lord will help me face my struggles with courage and valor. Even in the midst of great hardship I will be overflowing with the joy of the Lord. I will command His authority over all my trials that they will dwindle and die in His Almighty presence. I will be free of sin, guilt, shame, and unworthiness that have plagued me because of my fallen state before Him.
The Lord’s eternal and enduring mercy shall keep my soul stable as long as my life lasts, and then I’ll be forever with the Lord, worshipping around His throne forever and ever.
Lord be my shepherd where I have no need,
Trusting You always to guide and to lead.
You are the fountain I drink from each day,
I find satisfaction each drink that I take.
Restore me to wholeness so I can walk free,
Completely surrendered Your grace to receive.
By faith in Your promise I shall have no fear,
Because of my brokenness You will draw near.
Give me the victory over my foes,
They have no power to torment my soul.
I know You’ll protect me from what brings despair,
Because You’re my shepherd who'll always be there.
