You know in life it seems that we are always reaching for the best of everything. We spend a large majority of our time here on earth striving to obtain what the world believes to be important; fancy cars, nice clothes, big houses, the big job, and titles after our names. These things often appear to be what will make life good; what will make us happy; what will bring us joy and fulfillment; and what will leave us living on “easy street’. What people see looks good. They want what we have, think we are living our dream, and believe we have it all together. That’s what we always want them to think.
However that is not always the case. On the outside it may appear we have it good while on the inside we might be in darkness. Our striving to obtain that which looks good to the world often leads us to feel stressed, unhappy, unfulfilled, lonely, and joyless. What people may not realize is that the fancy car might have created a huge financial debt, those nice clothes get stained just like any other, that big job often carries the same difficulties as any other, and titles don’t describe who you are as a person. We may look good on the outside but not so good from within.
Things aren’t always as they appear.
