To many Christians front line ministry involves taking it to the streets, going into urban areas and bringing the gospel to the homeless and the down trodden. Make no mistake these are important ministries but I would like to make a case for standing in the pulpit, directly in the cross hairs of the enemy, stair him down and let God use you to speak to his people. Preaching Gods word brings about the enemies strongest attacks. If you don’t believe me just ask Jimmy Swaggert or Jim baker. These were once powerful men of God who were over taken by the constant bombardment of temptation against there flesh by the enemy. Even Jesus himself did not announce that the spirit was upon Him and that he had been anointed to preach until after he had overcome the temptation of the devil while in the dessert. [see Luke 4: 1- 19]. God does not want spiritual wimps preaching His word, in case you didn’t know it there’s a war going on and God is looking for those who can stand against the wiles of the enemy. He wants people who every time they step behind the pulpit their conscience is clear between them and God. Not that they are perfect but that they are living everything they know how and are standing firmly on the word of God. We need not be concerned about what we will say or what we will do, for God through His holy spirit will instruct us. We need to just stand and once we have stood we need just open our mouths and God will deliver.
