whose lives are filled with woe.
Brother, sister, stranger, friend,
who fight the Ancient Foe.
Lead me, guide me, use me, Lord,
my self extend to aid;
smile, prayer, or gentle touch,
let worries briefly fade.
Father, I ask this only,
to comfort aching breast.
To give what others have not--
compassion, mercy, rest.
When loved ones turn and walk away,
may I still stand my ground.
Someone needs a helping hand;
in me may it be found.
Employ my life dear Jesus,
to succor failing hope.
Engage me as a vessel
serving useful in this scope.
A shoulder they can lean on,
an ear that they can bend;
a heart to weep in concert,
Your love to them extend.
I wait on Your keen wisdom
to show me in Your way;
The heart that needs Your footprints,
to ease them through this day.
-- Amen
