Tammy was her new friend from South Africa who attends the adult school where the young woman is taking English classes, she figured if anyone might know the answer she would. When she arrived at Tammy’s house, she was excited and hopeful. She meets her at the door, takes a deep breath and says, “I must know who this Jesus is?” Tammy, having the same puzzled look asks, “Jesus… why?” Then the woman was happy to finally get it off her chest and goes into great detail about her dream, “I had a dream, and in my dream a man sits down with me and teaches me these words, “I am the way the truth and the life and no man can come to the father except through me.” The young woman went on to say that He talked with her and told her that His name was Jesus. She shared how she never felt more joy and happiness than in her dream and had to know what her dream meant and who Jesus was.
Tammy was beside herself; she never heard anything like this before but knew exactly what she was referring to and who Jesus was. She herself was a born again believer and follower of Jesus and knew that this was no coincidence that she came to her house that day. Tammy went to her room and brought out her bible and they sat down together while she showed her the passages that she recited were in the bible and shared with her what the bible was and who Jesus was and explained that He was the Messiah, the savior of the world who came to earth to save people from their sins.
The woman immediately received these words with joy and put her head in her lap and began to sob uncontrollably. Wiping away the tears she shared with her friend, “I have never felt so much love before, what should I do?” Tammy wrapping her arms around her comforted her and said, “There’s only one thing for you to do, and that is to ask Jesus to come into your heart” Tammy went on to share the salvation message with the young woman and when she finished she asked the young woman if she would like to receive Jesus and the young woman agreed without question and they joined their hands together and prayed the sinners prayer.
They went on talking for another hour, laughing, crying and praying together, it was the most wonderful and intimate time they ever shared an
d both knew it was the beginning of a whole new friendship.
As the young woman was getting ready to leave she asked Tammy, “What did we just do here?” Tammy smiled and hugged her, “It’s called fellowship my sister, fellowship, it means when two or more people come together, share their hearts and talk about God they are fellowshipping and you will have more of it when you meet your new brother’s and sister’s at church on Sunday.” The young woman smiled, nodded her head acknowledging her wishes and went back home with a bible in her hand a smile on her face and peace in her heart that she finally knew who Jesus was.
