Topic: Music (03/08/07)
Every soul was created with its own music. It may be the deep, solemn sounds of a symphony or it may be the soft lilting notes of a love song. Maybe it is the simplicity of a children’s song or the hard driving pulse of rock. Whether blues or jazz, classical or contemporary, the notes are there waiting to be released into a life song.

The soul’s music is given to nurture and support. It is there as a solid rock, when tempests and storms blow in from every direction. It is important to look inside, find the music, and let it flow out when encouragement and healing are needed. As one listens, quieting the soul, the music that resides deep within the heart will begin to grow louder, until it crescendos into joy and peace.

But what does one do if the music has become muted and indistinguishable? The best way to restore what was lost is to go to its Creator. The Lord God, who put the music in each heart, knows which beat is best for each individual. As a person spends time in God’s presence, worshipping His majesty, he will find the score that he should follow. His course will be charted and it will always be in the right key.

When each person is able to release his soul’s music, which was composed by the hand of God, a new harmony will come into his life. His voice will blend with those around him and the melody created will be beautiful to hear.

A unique and creative approach to the topic. A good message too! “The best way to restore what was lost is to go to its Creator.” As a woman reading this, I was a little distracted by the use of the pronoun “he” toward the end of the article. Otherwise, this was very interesting and enjoyable.

Beautiful imagery in this! My favorite phrase: "hard driving pulse of rock." I also liked "crescendos into joy and peace" and "muted and indistinguishable," along with the descriptive words "deep, solemn" and "soft, lilting" to describe specific kinds of music.
