Topic: Craft (as in handcraft) (02/08/07)
My father was a craftsman. He loved to do carpentry. He crafted our chairs, tables, beds and even shelves to make our home neat and a comfortable place to live in. We have never realized how much his craft meant to us until he passed away to start a new life with Jesus. Our wedding may not have been beautiful if not for his crafted tables and chairs where most of our visitors sat on while looking at me and my husband speaking our love to the world. I have not realized until now that if not for his talent in crafting, we would not have a place to live in since he himself built our house from scratched. Even in his work, he has crafted people to live a simple life dedicated to Jesus as he himself did. He was never tempted to receive or get money from work even if his office mates are telling him. He crafted our minds to be content and use our talents for the greater good. My father followed Jesus as a carpenter, and his love and good life is engraved in our hearts as we continue living and shaping crafts for our children for them to remember that Jesus had the most noble work, a carpenter of life. It is Jesus’ gift for us. That we should all be crafters, like He crafted our lives to be pleasing to God.

Your father left you a wonderful legacy - to appreciate Jesus "a carpenter of life". Although your entry was short you conveyed a powerful message in it. How proud you must be to have had such a father.
