I craned my head upward. Stretching across the sky was a multicolored mess. Loose ends dangled toward me. I batted away a blue one. “Well…um…”
“Great, isn’t it!”
“It has a lot of pretty colors,” I commented. That much was true.
“Don’t you think the overall picture is stunning?”
I looked closer, trying to see the picture that He had created. There were hints of a pattern here and there, but nothing I could discern. “It’s got a lot of…3-D texture,” I replied, pointing out the knots.
“Oh, it works out in all dimensions!”
I threw my hands up in exasperation. “I’m sorry Lord, but I just don’t see what this picture is of!”
“You’ve got to change your point of view,” he called back.
I tilted my head to the side, then to the other. I tried crossing my eyes, but the picture never popped out at me. I walked around, attempting every conceivable angle. “I still don’t see it!” I called up.
He picked me up. “You can see a lot better from here.”
“Oh,” I said quietly, plopping down beside him. “It is beautiful.”
