When I think of Garden, my first thought is mind. What do we have planted in our minds that are showing fruitage today? Mat 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower, KJV, reveals the foundations our states of minds can be found established upon when truth arrives.
Do we see love for one another or a need of it? I personally find it extremely important to know what seeds we are planting in our minds at all times especially when snakes (negative thoughts) attempt to find place in our gardens when left unattended.
Our mind is the source that determines our daily walk with God. If we are not continuously planting seeds of faith, love and peace, we fall short of being the salt of the earth. I would hope we as Christians would understand the mind of Christ is crucial to have in these latter days. We can not afford to not be conscious of what we are thinking each moment of our lives. Christ’s mind was always about His father’s business. Therefore, His mind was not on the world’s affairs and demands.
Life’s experiences always take our minds to certain places especially when our emotions have been negatively moved. It is during this time, our gardens, (minds) must be watchful to ensure we do not plant seeds of resentment, bitterness and faithlessness because those seeds will bloom and in some cases choke the good seeds previously planted.
No doubt, the garden of a Christian is beautiful filled with seeds bringing forth love, joy, peace and healing to a world needing all we have to offer. In the garden, God meets us there. Isn’t that awesome?
