Brother, be shrewd
When intellect and ability come face to face
And insight helps you set the pace
Brother, be shrewd
Be clever and wise, faithful and true
Knowledge and effectiveness qualify you
Brother, be shrewd
Seeing past the surface traits
It’s how you build and you create
Brother, be shrewd
No wisdom or plan can succeed
Unless the Lord set it be
Brother, be shrewd
Understanding, depth you’ll need
Plan, and then, do sow the seed
Brother, be shrewd
Reach out to others, give don’t take
Our Father richly compensates
Brother, be shrewd
Attaining discipline, listening too
Pay attention to what you do
Brother, be shrewd
Appointed for such a time as this
In His plan it all does fit
Brother, be shrewd
Practicing His presence in all you do
Evilness you must elude
Brother, be shrewd
Keen, not cunning, don’t forget to dream
Always worship Christ our King
Brother, be shrewd
Apply your lessons without delay
He’s coming back one soon day
