In the early, early morning when darkness begins to be overpowered by the light of the
new day if one is very still in the garden they can hear the marching pitter, pitter, patter of
the tiniest little ants as they take their treasured succulent bites from the strawberries to the safety of their home. Usually the march is halted when I enter the strawberry patch to sit and think about the beauty before me.
Before long I see the spunky little chipmunk pop his head out from under the railroad ties. He's bigger and able to drag off a whole strawberry. Our eye contact isn't necessarily a cordial greeting. He scurries off to his place of abode.
The sun continues to rise. The squirrels venture from their nests to run up and down the tree limbs all the time surveying the garden below. They scan the territory for the neighborhood cats that will soon venture out into the day.
The leaves covering the worms every so slightly move as they deposit their gift of nutrients to the garden. They quietly exit the garden to their underground world where they'll prepare the next day's gift for the garden. They'll be back when the sun sets.
By now the sun is radiating from heaven above spreading its warmth and inspiring growth
from each plant. The garden has been dressed with an abundance of energy for the production of a fruitful garden.
I stand to leave and embark upon my days journey. With me I take an abundance of peace and strength realizing I am created by the Creator of such beauty.
