The song had finished when she leaned over to turn the volume back down again. It was one of her favorites. When the Eagles sang “Wasted Time” it always took her back to the old days, old boyfriends and old mistakes.
“Wasted time” she muttered under her breath almost with a laugh, but not really. The lyrics kept going over and over in her head, almost without her realizing,
“...your all alone and it looks like the end”. She finally stopped the thoughts about getting the kids supper and bathed and listened to the lyrics that kept persisting.

“Your afraid it’s all been wasted time...” That was it. Her fear. The words identified her biggest fear in this life. She wasn’t sure where to go with this epiphany so she just sat on the words a minute. Did she really feel like her life was wasted? That’s so extreme. Is all in this life a vain attempt at nothing special? She suddenly felt like she had insulted God. She asked forgiveness for her thoughtlessness and continued on with Him while she had Him.

“God, I know you will show me in the end there was purpose to my life. I want to be so bold to ask for that purpose now, that purpose that goes beyond my responsibilities. Am I wasting Your time? I know You are using me here, but how? I want to see You working in me”

The Lord gently took her soul in His hands and through His divine Holy Spirit sent a blanket of comfort over her anxious heart. He whispered to her all the names of her children, then named her friends one by one. She could see their faces. Then he gathered her mind together to show her a string of souls He had touched through her that her earthly thoughts had forgotten. Tears collected and slowly fell as she began to feel worthy by Him. She felt useful and hopeful again. God has stroked her confidence and had reminded her she was a vessel. In the end, she knew her time wasn’t wasted. Not by any stretch.

This is nicely written - I like the line "blanket of comfort over her anxious heart." Watch the use of your and you're; if unsure, do not use contractions.
