Luxury homes, exotic vacations, elegant clothing
Of the Unscrupulous rich,
Enough to make jealous until I contemplate the end
But then I consider
The cross that awaits them at the end
Families ruined, abandonment by friends,
Now talked and written about in shame
Tell me, Enemy of God, why do you deceive so?
Show me one you have raised high and not failed
Show me one that is picked up by you after the fall
You do this, and I will concede your power tempts
But in the end it’s My Father that rescues
Those deserted by you for dead
Cleaning, redeeming, and welcoming
Hospitable to your discarded and dejected
Enemy of God I await just one different end
Show me an end that offers not the insufferable yoke
But the jeweled and resplendent crown
Then you would have proven your offers tempting
Even to the very end
