The incredible two word phrase that so many people try to reach every day. “The End.” Why do we strive so hard to come to those words at the end of each day? Exactly. We use them so frequently and we don’t even realize that we are speaking it directly into our lives. The end of my rope, the light at the end of the tunnel, will this ever end, etc. There are so many phrases that encompass these words that they cannot all be placed here. The end of my rope is mostly used when we have had enough of the dealing with a situation that is just going in circles. The light at the end of the tunnel is frequently said when we know things will get better, but we just can’t seem to get there. Will this ever end is stated when we are tired of being hurt, sad, financially unstable, and many other times we feel at a loss because we have tried everything we know to make it better.
However, as we learn and grow as Christians, shouldn’t we work to eliminate these words from our speaking? Christ died on the Cross but was that the end? The rain flooded the earth, but was that the end? When David slew Goliath was it the end? Did God promise salvation and that’s the end? No, there is not an end to any of that or anything else in the Bible. If it were filled with the end, then are we striving to be a complete Christian just so we get to the end? If everything we learn in God’s word comes to an end then why do we reread scriptures and find new revelations?
I really don’t want to be at the end of my rope because I don’t plan on giving up. I want to press on for the Glory of God and reach the beautiful city that is to come and rejoice forevermore. I don’t have a light at the end of my tunnel because I am not in a tunnel, I am a beacon of God’s sacrifice and Jesus’ love. I don’t want my Love for God to ever end. I don’t want Him to ever stop loving me and leading me. I want Him to mold me and make me and if I need to pass through some struggles, well He promised that He would hold my hand.
When something comes to an end, it no longer exists. When we wish for something to end, are we really thinking about what we are saying? By wanting my financial struggle to end, am I saying that I want it to no longer exist, or am I saying that I am ready for a change? If it no longer exists, what am I left with? Money, yes, anything else? If I choose to spend this money on many things and not what God needs then I am once again in a financial struggle. Therefore, I should rephrase the “struggle” and continue to seek God’s will on everything. I am not saying that I choose not to be blessed to the point that I can give when God calls me to give or to help when I see a need, I am just saying that as long as I have to pray and listen to God’s will in my life then I really don’t want it to end by the complete definition of the word end. I want it to be changed into something for God. To be changed is to be renewed from something old and unusable. As a sinner I was unusable, as a Christian, I have been changed and renewed in a usable vessel of The Lord. By being financially incomplete, I am usable but not to my full ability, when it becomes changed, I become able to give differently and help differently at a different level. Then I will be financially complete by the Grace of God for the Glory of God.
