She took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. I wish I could have just one day off. But no! Not me! She forced herself into an upright position and lugged her legs out into the crisp air. She edged herself to the side of the bed and slipped her feet into her cold slippers. She heaved herself up, draped her dressing gown around her shoulders and tottered to the bathroom. My head feels so thick. Another dreadful day with more of the same.
Diane groaned. I’ll never get back to sleep now. I may as well make myself some tea.
Diane padded to the kitchen and tapped the ON switch for the kettle. She slumped onto the stool as she waited for the kettle to boil. My life is awful! I can’t stand living here! Why Lord? Why has it turned out like this? The kettle whistled and clicked off. Diane added a teabag to the cup and poured in the boiling water. She cupped her hands around the hot mug and ambled to the comfy chair next to the window. Diane stared blankly out at the crashing waves in the bay. She blew on the tea to cool it down. I hate my life. I’m miserable. I’m in such a bad mood. I wish I could end it all
Adrenaline surged through Diane’s body as she dwelt on her negative thoughts: her face flushed hot; beads of sweat prickled across her forehead; the muscles in her gut constricted; her heartbeat pounded in her ears: THUD, THUD, THUD.
Stop it! Stop it! Think about things that are pure and lovely! Keep your mind… um, keep your mind on everything that is good… no, true and good… arrgh, I can’t remember that verse! My memory is terrible! How am I EVER going to learn the Bible?
Diane sagged: defeated.
I’m such a loser!
Diane shuddered. STOP IT! The battle is in the mind!
Diane squeezed her eyes closed and scrunched up her face. She let out a slow breath and forced her shoulders to relax. A Christian should be an Alleluia from head to foot.
Diane snorted, “Typical! I can remember a quote by Augustine, but not the Bible!†She took a sip of tea and pondered. A Christian should be an Alleluia from head to foot.
Diane gulped the last of her tea and slouched back onto the cushion. She glanced at the CD’s strewn around the stereo; her gaze rested on the cover for Handel’s Messiah. And He shall reign forever and ever. King of Kings, Lord of Lords.
“Hallelujah, Hallelujahâ€, Diane grimaced at the sound of her voice.
I’m such a dud! I can’t even keep a tune!
STOP IT!
Diane clenched her jaw: focused. And He shall reign forever and ever. King of Kings, Lord of Lords.
Diane sat upright and bobbed her head in time to her thoughts. And He shall reign forever and ever. King of Kings, forever and ever. And Lord of Lords, forever and ever.
Her body rocked to the beat. King of Kings, forever and ever, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. And Lord of Lords, forever and ever, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
She pounded the air with her fist as the chorus in her mind crescendoed. King of Kings, forever and ever, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. And Lord of Lords, forever and ever, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, HAL-LE-LUUU-JAH..
Diane grinned: bolstered; she jumped up and proclaimed, “Rightio! Let’s tackle this day! You go girl!â€
She waltzed down the passageway. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee. How great Thou art, how great Thou art. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee. How great Thou art, HOW GREAT THOU ART!

A small dab of red ink: though you have varied most of your sentences, there seemed to be a cluster of them near the start that all started with "She."
