This devotional definitely challenges the reader! I suggest reading it aloud to see some sentences that need some tweaking:-). Perhaps you could work the definition into the body of the piece and omit the first sentence, which is kind of a no-no. I certainly heard your passion for this message to be received!
You have made some great points in this mini-sermon. I could easily picture a minister in the pulpit saying your words. Especially in the turmoil of today's world, it's important to remind people of this powerful message.

Instead of starting with the definition of time, you may want to start with something that has more of a pop to it. For example, I might suggest something like: Close your eyes and count to five. By following that simple, seemingly benign suggestion, you've just used up five precious seconds. Don't fall into the devil's trap. He wants you to believe and even act like time never ends.

It's a simple tool, but would grab many reader's attention all while demonstrating a core principle of your message.

If you were to leave the definition in, make sure you put it in quotation marks and cite the reference. Without the quotation marks and a new paragraph, it could be difficult to tell when the definition ends and the MC's voice begins.

If I didn't know what the topic was, I'd guess time not year. I appreciate the effort to not use the topic word. It's not easy to do, but make sure you focus in on the topic, not just a general description of it.

Since you still have words left over, I'd urge you to quote or somehow reference the oil in lamp parable. Not everyone will know it's a story that Jesus told.

You make some great points though. I often notice how often I wish my life away: Man is this light ever going to change? Grrr, I hate it when the doctor is late. Doesn't he know my time is important? I can't wait for Christmas. I wish those two weeks would go by faster.
I know I'm guilty of things like that way too often. You reminded me to savor each second with which God has blessed me.

I like that you point out that life isn't easy, but how true that we are not going through it alone.

You have a great foundation here. I'd urge you to read and comment on at least five other articles this week. I've discovered the more I read and comment, the more I understand my own writing. Don't get discouraged. I've no doubt you have a great passion to spread God's love. He has plans for your work, most likely in ways you might never guess. Good job!
