His plans are better
His thoughts are higher
He's indeed worthy of my trust
He sometimes says
Just stand still where you are
Do not be afraid
See how I will rescue
At times, He’ll say
Get moving now!
Do not be paralyzed by fear
And watch what I will do
The shortest route He did not choose
He saw the risks that lurked
His insights outshine human view
A divine detour or delay’s the best
For some it was puzzling
like Daniel’s three faithful friends
who were cast into the fiery furnace
for keeping higher laws
Because of their trust
they triumphed, they routed armies;
they escaped the sword, and survived lions.
But some were flogged, and stoned,
Unjust death was my Lord’s destiny
The cruel cross for the sinless Saviour
He entrusted into the Father’s hand
to save me for eternity
It is great to trust God
Though unpredictable, He's always right
I'm tired of what my flesh so fancies
Let me choose His way to live well
He overrules circumstances
and affirms His goodness
I trust Him who knows what He's doing,
I'll ask His help to keep on trusting
