If we remember
The way Jesus
Came into this world
And how He found warmth
From the cold...
In the soulful
Definition
Of true hospitality
We should remember
That someone
Made a way
For the Savior
To be born
As it was foretold...
When we consider
That warmth sometimes
May not be present
In our daily walk --
It is then that
We should remember
That true hospitality
Begins in the heart --
Finds vision
In the soul --
Aspires to be generous
In every way --
And stirs the souls
Of men
To share of their best
And to give themselves
Away...
It is not found
With consumption
Of everything for self
And pleading
For one's own...
It is found
In the garden
Of understanding
Where the seeds
Of generosity
Are sown...
Let us remember
That true hospitality
Is defined
In terms of empathy
And realization
That the next
Recipient of HOSPITALITY
May be YOU or ME...
