I know I can relate to being distracted.
It can be difficult, in poetry, to work the needed verb tense in to the rhyme scheme, but it just does not work very well to use the "did" before the present tense verb. Also, while you were pretty consistant with your syllable count in each line, the meter, balance of the stressed and unstressed syllables, was off in a few places. You might want to comb through Jan's writing classes on the forums for poetry topics. No matter how old the topic, she will reply if you comment or ask questions.
I like how you addressed this topic in verse. Keep honing your poetic skills. I'm not sure if reading other poetry would be of any assistance, but I write a fair amount of it, and several have received EC's this year. You would be looking for: "Replication;" "Bucket of Wonders;" "Ballad of Ones Beloved;" and "All Things New." I hope this is helpful...
This flows fairly smoothly. I'm not great at poetry, being tone deaf, I struggle with rhythm, but it seemed to sound nice to my ear. Some of the lines felt forced for the rhymes, but the more you write, read, and comment on Challenges, the easier it will be. One of the best tools is to critique others. It helps discover what does and doesn't work for you. Plus the more feedback you give, often the more feedback you receive. I enjoyed this light-hearted read. I can totally relate. I'm thinking about writing a line or two of it on my window to remind me to finish too. Nice job.

Congratulations on placing highly commendable in the Beginners category.

I have such a difficult time finishing what I start, but I am trying.
