Why was it necessary? This was not the usual route, but scripture says it was necessary to go thru Samaria. Jesus could have easily chosen to take the most traveled path around the darkness and have a comfortable journey to Galilee.
This story clearly reveals that God isn't asking us to take the safe routes and detour the darkness.
God's Glory thrives where the darkness resides, and Jesus following Gods leading into Samaria is the perfect illustration.
The Father's business is to save souls by going where no one else would think to venture and Jesus knew this.
Walking in obedience, Jesus comes upon a divine appointment and radically speaks to the Samaritan woman.
In order to shake the foundation and break the strongholds of Samaria, The Father designs this intentional meeting. In the Jewish culture they did not speak to the Samaritans, especially not married women, so this was a very radical move.
This woman at the well represents all of those that have the stigma of being “untouchable’.
Gods all consuming fire is burning to touch these people. The heart of God is longing to invade the homeless, prostitutes, drug addicts, witches, psychics with tangible love encounters.
Here we see Jesus portraying radical love, by stepping out and speaking to someone labeled “too dark to save”.
Jesus then begins prophesying over her with words of knowledge about her “husbands”.
This woman had no idea That on this day she would receive her purpose and her place as a daughter in the kingdom!
Before my salvation I was thirsting for something more. And just like Jesus in this story, a believer received a word of knowledge about me.
By being obedient in doing the Father's work and with love, she led me to repentance by the truth of the gospel.
In love, this woman chose to be radical.
Lord chose to use her in guiding me into the Father's arms.
All it took was the willingness to have a surrendered servant. A heart opened to the Holy Spirits leading. A servant willing to get mixed into the life of someone that was in darkness and bondage.
Our calling by the Father is not to be safe, but to be warriors of love.
To throw away all the worries about what it will cost us to venture into the darkest places.
The love God pours inside of us needs to flow back out continously. Like a cool stream into the lives of those hidden in the cracks of darkness, dehydrated for true love.
The woman arrived at the well thirsty. But Jesus let his living water flow into her filling her full. She then ran into the town with her excitement bursting forth with the new revelation. This woman had been transformed into a revivalist and a evangelist for Jesus!
This is what radical love does, it brings hope, and excitement to those that are hopeless. And in turn, they become a fire for Jesus!
There are so many undiscovered gems. Pastors, evangelist, teachers, and prophets stuck in the darkness, unaware of the Truth. Held down by the chains of the enemy's counterfeit snares. These souls are in wait for their salvation and the Holy Spirit is saying that it is time to harvest.
Our lamps need to be brought out of the safety of the church, going as one body into the crevices of the world. The children are crying out, groaning for freedom.
Throw off the baskets, let the lights shine bright and run full force into the mission fields.
The field is white for the picking. There are souls ready for harvest!
Harvest can only come when we go and mix into the crowds of the lost and hopeless.
We cannot just be the church on Sundays, the harvest is ready everywhere we go.
The breath of God is inside of us, and there are thousands upon thousands of Souls waiting for God's breath to blow life over them.
Sons and daughters just waiting for restoration and purpose.
There are Destiney words from the Father’s heart, just waiting in the heavenly’s for His children to release on earth.
The workers need to rise up and work the fields, and it requires getting dirty in the mire.
We are graced with the revelation of what radical love is by watching how Jesus walked.
The harvest can come when we are ready to stop being safe and love radically!
