Topic: IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL (don't write about the song) (04/02/15)
I go to church a few times a week. Maybe not the old country church with stained glass windows I grew up in or the mega church I currently attend on Sunday mornings, but it is where I meet God on a regular basis. Water is my sanctuary, my sweet, safe place.

When the pressures of this life press in and I need to get away from the clunky metal computer screen and cell phone I return to the water. At the end of a long day when all work and chores are done, even the coffee is set to brew the next morning, I get my bath ready. I prepare the bath with joyful anticipation because I know that soon, all will be well with my soul again.

I put the water all the way on hot and let it fill half the tub, then cold the rest of the way to reach the perfect temperature. I light a couple of candles and turn off the glaring overhead light. Grab some lavender bubble bath and bath salt and swirl the soft water for the perfect inviting bath, my sanctuary. When I sit back in the bathtub and let my shoulders go under the hot water it is like I am being cradled by God’s merciful arms, all of my worrisome cares are lifted. I can then focus on God only and what is important. His presence wipes out all the hassles of this modern-day life.

I am thankful my time spent in the water is all it takes for me to relax in the Lord. Truth is I can rest in the Lord anytime, but this is my special place just me and God. Here He reminds me that He created me exactly the way He wanted me and He makes no mistakes. His opinion is the only one that matters and I am to humbly trust Him and hold onto His promises.

Water always ignites a stimulating or therapeutic response for me. For instance a waterfall will invigorate me with the sound and force of the rushing water. A gentle stream instills a fluid calmness that quiets my spirit. I was covered in water for nine months as I was being prepared to be born and then submersed again when I was re-born in Christ. Time and time again I return to the water to have a renewed spirit within me and all is well with my soul.

Ah yes, the joys of water - truly a blissful thing. Water is the most miraculous of all creations it seems to me, no wonder it has such therapeutic effects on body, soul and spirit. I still can't fathom how two flammable elements, hydrogen and oxygen make water - its simply miraculous.

I love this entire piece!

I must tell you, I love water as well. It's peaceful roar by the seaside lulls me into tranquility, plus I agree with all of which you said, including for baptism...excellent job!
