It’s just as true now as in days of old.
The Bible tells us that it is a sin
To think we are better than anyone.
Miriam and Aaron envied Moses.
Consider the lesson that’s here for us.
Miriam was punished with leprosy.
Such a bitter lesson for all to see.
Then God restored her health and attitude,
Moses’s duty no more misconstrued.
Nebuchadnezzar thought he was the one
Who caused the success of great Babylon.
Seven years spent like an animal does,
Caused him to remember just who God was.
Now pride was the sin of the Pharisee,
Thought he was better than others, you see.
Paul explained he might have reason to boast
Of hardships and trails, he had the most.
But only in Christ and Him crucified,
Should glory, honor and praise be applied.
It’s true we never have reason to boast.
It is our God we should honor the most.
Our praise and devotion to Him belong,
Our faith and obedience ever strong.
