Topic: Cup and Saucer (08/28/14)
Getting ready for worship today was like being on a warship. Everything and anything that could delay me or even stop me was happening and I remember saying to God, the enemy is working hard for me not to make it, please get me there!

I noticed the last couple weeks I have become courageous and actually look for a seat upfront. Church was particularly full this morning and I thought I might have to sit towards the back, but I kept the faith and marched down front and 3 rows from the front I saw one chair left, just for me! The songs the worship team were playing seemed like they were just for me, exactly what I needed to hear to keep me sweet, as my husband would say.

The sermon today was on truth and grace and how it is good to have a balance of both. The pastor explained how if you only live by grace (and we can all say a big Amen for God’s grace!) that maybe you’re not living a Godly life because you don’t know what being a Christian means. The same with living by truth only, which would be the law, we would be jumping from one hoop to another, trying not to break any rules.

It occurred to me as I was listening how blessed and grateful I am that God’s grace has filled my cup so much, it is overflowing into my saucer covering the law for me.

Touching and lovely refrain!
So true...many times I've been running late or things have gotten in the way...but thanks to God He gets us there doesn't He?

A very nice, light uncomplicated message. God's grace is sufficient for us and His truth sets us free.

Some people would prefer the wording "The building was particularly full this morning". The church is those who answer the call of "who so ever will may come". These will believe that Jesus is Lord and Christ and obey Peter's command to repent and be baptized so they also can be added to the church.

Isn't it great when "truth" and "grace" are combined so one is not left out.
