My Creator God gave me a laid back, happy disposition. A stranger is just a friend I have never met. I do take exception to squirrels and rabbits.
Early in the morning my master comes out to the kennel to take me to the front yard. If given the slightest opportunity I’ll escape. I’ll trot for hours around the tree line, checking in on my family from time to time. I can’t understand why it bothers them. I’m only exploring. Besides, they go visit their friends. I’m a very social dog and like to see my friends.
But normally I am eager to chase away the squirrels and make sure no other animals have invaded my territory. About that time my master returns with water followed by breakfast. Sometimes my mistress makes a special breakfast. What a treat! For a while I could count on scrambled eggs for breakfast on “glad rags day” (Sunday). Now my mistress is too busy for that as they leave early for church. My mistress plays the piano and my master teaches and preaches. I can wait, because they come home with a little white box full of goodies for me.
My mornings are busy making sure things are taken care of around here. I keep my eye on the UPS and Fed Ex trucks. The mailman comes every day. This pleases me to no end because my master scratches my ears on the way out to the mail box and back.
I do enjoy curling up in my yard, stretching out by the flagpole or laying on my throne (bench in front yard). My master may be the boss man, but I’m the king around here.
I wag my tail a lot because I’m a happy dog and am loved. I heard a doggy psychologist say that dogs wag their tails because they have energy. I want you to know that I wag my tail when I am happy. It goes around in circles when my mistress brings me a treat.
About noon I begin starring at the front door. I’m ready for “Bo time.” If my family isn’t home, I take a nap until I hear the car come in the driveway. My master comes out with the leash. I run around in circles. I try to be a gentleman, but find it hard to keep still long enough for him to bring me in. My mistress greets me at the door and in I scurry. There is a special couch where I relax with my family. My mistress needs lots of encouragement. She worries too much. I think God created me to help her learn how to relax.
She watches me and can see that I don’t get uptight about things. I don’t wonder where my next meal will come from. I know that my family is going to take care of me. I try to explain that she can trust God completely. I think she’s learning.
Back to “Bo time” – you would not believe how much fun it is! I stretch out on the couch and it’s love time! Will you get jealous if I tell you about the treats? Sometimes it’s beefy treats or pup-peroni. It may be a raw hide. A milkbone with peanut butter on it sounds great. Actually, I prefer the small ones, so make that three.
After about an hour I resume my royal duties. Sometimes my master has to run errands in the afternoon while my mistress works around the house. Then I have the extra responsibility of taking care of her. If a vehicle pulls into the driveway I make sure she knows.
Around 5 p.m. it’s time to go back to my boudoir for the night.
While I have my duties, my life is really one of chilling out and relaxing. I don’t have a care in the world, because my Creator God gave me such a wonderful master.
So to chill out properly I recommend getting to know my Creator God and letting Him take care of you. Like I tell my mistress, you can trust Him completely.
Love, Bo

Playful and refreshing story withe a great message in closing.
God bless~
Told very well. Good use of time sequence in the story.
Novel way of presenting God through the eyes of one of his creations.
I liked it.
I have to say, however, that as much as I wanted to stop reading this entry as soon as I realized it was from the perspective of a dog - I didn't. I read the darn thing all the way through, and it held my attention throughout. Considering there was no drama or conflict, that's a pretty good indication of a well crafted piece of writing.
Just don't write next week's entry from a cat's perspective - I have my limits! :)
God bless~
