Was pleased with what Abel did bring.
So angry then did Cain become
Abel’s murder was the outcome.
God had told him to try again.
Failing to listen was a sin.
A wanderer he then became,
With no one but himself to blame.
Esau let his stomach rule his head,
For his birthright took stew instead.
What the Israelites did mention
Aaron quickly paid attention.
All their jewelry he threw in,
To worship that idol was sin.
He should have listened to God’s voice,
Then he would have made the right choice.
Moses, though held in high esteem,
Was punished to a great extreme.
Instead of giving a command,
Struck the rock with staff in hand.
The promised land he would not see.
That was his punishment to be.
Many others in days gone by,
With God’s command did not comply.
It was true then and is today.
People insist on their own way.
And when they go off the deep end,
Result won’t be what they intend.
So God’s will seek to know and do.
He has promised to see us through.
