How many school children had tea and home made cakes whilst at school. In the early parts of the second world war?. The schools where i lived on the East coast were closed. We went to school in peoples houses for about a year. The home made cakes were good basic cakes and made more from flour than anything else. One the money was tight and the rations took care of the rest. We learnt to accept what was on offer. When i see my Granchildren and their likes and dislikes, i am grateful for those times when money and food was scarce.
I was an aprenticewhen i started work and the money was very little. I lived with my Grandmother and Grandfather. Who had been through some tough times money wise. They taught me to be prudent and it stays with me to this day. When i finished my time i was drafted in to the Army for my National Service. Once again the money was very little. So i had come through a time when i learnt how to stretch what i had to fulfil my needs.
I am grateful for those times of learning how to cope on very little. This stood me in good stead for what was to come. The Lord called my wife and i to leave everything behind and go out in faith that he would provide. We had some scary moments but he always came through for us. You see we both had learnt to count the small change. God was our provider and we give him the Glory, Honour and praise. I Pastored a church for a £1 a year! they had by their remit to pay the pastor something. We managed once again because of our backgrounds.
The point i am trying to make is that God knows how to train us for his service. When we look back at our lives, he has used the hard times to prepare us. That was the walk we had been called to do. What i do know is that we will prosper in the word of God. We do not have to go gleaning there. It is there for us in abundace.
So this is what you call making ends meet.

Watch the punctuation (as in the word 'I' should always be capitalized.) Thanks for sharing your story!
I loved this. Thank you.
God bless~
Your coverage of the topic was good. Would like to see you add some punctuation marks in places. A comma can make a big difference in how your readers read the sentences.
It's great to hear stories from those who were there. History has much to teach us. Keep up the good work and keep on writing!
