The world declares image is everything
Without substance the person is nothing
Jesus' seems demanding--it's rewarding

Appearances are indeed deceptive
Holy Spirit please make us perceptive
Guide us and keep us alert and active

A smart entrance may not mean a smooth track
A broken gate may not mean a rough track
Jesus' teaching keeps us on the right track


Beware wolves come in sheep's clothing
Our Lord Jesus gives this warning
Take heed and be more discerning

We know false teachers by their fruit
Like fruit trees are known by their fruit
Bad trees cannot produce good fruit

They're like Balam who loved gold more than God
They're like Korah who rebelled against God
They're like senseless animals that mock God

They're wandering stars destined for the pits
They're waterless clouds that bring us no rains
They're leafless trees uprooted--bring no fruits


Like foam on ocean waves are shameful deeds
Surely will the Lord punish evil deeds
With holy angels He will judge their deeds


The Plausibles prey on the gullible
Let them into our life - we're miserable
Better be safe than sorry is laudable


How far can we trust others while checking
Or making up our minds about trusting
Jesus teaches patience in observing

Some people may resort to crying wolf
Somone may throw us to a greedy wolf
Jesus isn't fooled by such a sly wolf


Neither is Jesus tricked by crafty moves
Saying the right things; making the right moves
Lord please guide us; we won't fall for their moves

Now to Him who is able to keep us from falling
He'll present us in His presence notwithstanding
Be glory and majesty to Him who's everlasting
Amen

This is beautiful. I like the idea of having it in a prayer format. It's a great way to showcase the topic while praising God. The only thing I noticed is you switched tenses a few times. I know that can be hard not to do in poetry. Your words will touch the heart of your reader. Good job.
