Of perceived
Greatness
In self
In status,
In worldly
Success
Be replaced,
Be expired,
Be exchanged,
For the
Crucified life
Of Christ’s
Gentle greatness
Living within.
Such expiration
And exchange
Of mutinous self,
For Christ, himself,
Measured by
Worldly standards,
Is not often
Times seen
As greatness,
When utilizing
The measurement
Of worldly popularity.
Yet this brings me
To think upon the
True heroes
Of our faith for
True Godly
Greatness
Was found in
Noah,
John the Baptist,
Stephen.
Peter,
Andrew,
James,
John,
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Matthew and,
Our precious
Savior
Jesus Christ,
Our King.
So many
Sold out
Servants
Of the faith
Were often
Hidden from
Society’s and
History’s view,
Yet from the
Heavenly perpective
Such noble servants
Were truly great
And honorable
Ambassadors
Of the faith.
For they stood
For Jesus Christ
And were stoned,
Sown asunder,
Grew hungry,
Were killed,
All daylong
Of whom
The world
Was not worthy.
And so we should
Not be surprised
With heaven’s
Definition of
True greatness,
Which is when
We at salvation
Kneeling at the
Foot of the cross
Get His new nature,
Christ’s life and power,
Living in and through us
That exchanges the
Old nature of poverty
With the new nature
Of Heavenly wealth.
