Growing up my father always said; there are three routs you can take in life. #1. You Follow Christ, #2. You can lean on your own understanding or #3. You can dance with the devil? (MATTHEW 7:13) NIV. “Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only few find it.

I really didn’t understand that language at the time, as the years went by I gained a little knowledge and came to realize this was not, “turn the lights down low” or a “romantic candle light dinner dance”, this was dirty dancing “for real, for reals!

Critter is always trying to talk me into a game he calls “depression”. He’s very skilled and he’s got some good moves, he cheats and he’s very cunning, when it comes to playing “depression”. He throws a cheap shot like coming at me early in the morning, right when I open my eyes and I’m just about ready to get out of bed. “He tells me why get up? And tries to get me to romance that thought, I do not allow him to rent space in my mind. “He’s evicted, that fast!” But of course he’s a pesky little critter, stubborn Bast***! “He is?”

I got to thinking, “the devil is real”, and if you don’t know that “soon, you will come to find out? And because he’s very crafty and plays dirty, my strategy; was carefully planned out; to achieve a goal. In technique; skill, the perfect procedure used in specific task!

So I learned to understand that there is a technique for everything – and that there is also a strategy to the technique (The Blue Prints). So to beat him at his own game, I pulled out my weapon, “the dictionary”, quick, fast, and in a hurry.

• Press; push against something: to use a steady and significant force to put weight on something, sometimes to make it move or start. Then I added the “de”- in press, and got depress. Added the “ed”, at the end of depress, and got depressed.

• Depressed; low in spirit; effected by psychological depression, again adding the “ion” in depress, got depression. (Matthew 13:22) NIV. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, (but the worries of this life) and the deceitfulness of wealth chock it, making it unfruitful.

The worries of life put pressure. The husband, the wife, children, house, bills cause stress and pressure?

• Pressure; constant state of worry and urgency: powerful and stressful demands on somebody’s time, attention, and energy, or demand of this sort.

And that critter sure knows how to put pressure on life’s challenges and demands. #1 tactic I use is patience; “he uses depression”, I use patience… on life’s terms and conditions, and understanding. (Matthew 13: 23) NIV. But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

See, when that pesky little critter challenges you to a real game of “depression” you give him a run for his money. This is like boxing in the ring with a professional boxer. I was getting beat up, knocked down, and then knocked out, soon after shut down. This was serious it was as if a doctor put me on bed rest for a week, in the condition I was in. spiritually.

(JOSHUA 1:7)NIV. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all laws my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

Of Couse it took some time for me to get it together, and realize I’m better than that. “It was on, and cracking!”

The pesky little critter came at me with a game of depression, stared him in the eye and said; the game you call depression, “I call life, Basic Human Standard to feel the emotion. I don’t give in anymore and let him win, this time I tell him “come on, put up your dukes”.

Winners don’t lose, and in life you feel the ups and downs, I just fight back, so here’s to “depression”. See, God don’t make wimps “I win”, game over.
