You are the Conductor of the universal symphony. You are the Father of creation and the Lord of all life. It is Your hands that holds the entire universe in place and Your smile that gives light to every star and sun; every moon reflects the shine of Your face.
It is the flick of Your finger that set the worlds turning and the touch of Your hand that brought them to life.
Every single animal, every plant and tree, every bird, every fish and every insect, even the plankton of the deepest oceans, owes its very breath to Your creative love. And its continued existence hangs upon Your spoken Word. Life is at Your command and death is nothing more or less than separation from You.
There is not a rainbow or a summer shower that can shine and dance in the sunlight, unless You allow it to be so. The winds only follow the paths that You choose and flowers only warm in the sun when You permit it to shine.
You alone painted every color and reflection, every hue that shines in a landscape, every shade that colors our lives and every golden surprise of every mountain lookout. Each magical treat found in a rain-forest and every rock on every rugged coastline, all come from your artist’s palette and were put into place by the stroke of your brush.
Every sound was birthed from your lips; every tinkling of every mountain stream and every thunderous roar of every crashing wave. Each melodious chirp in every forest glade and every rustling refrain of all of nature’s wind chimes. The slow tempo of distant rain and the rushing crescendo of Niagara Falls all follow Your baton's lead and form the cacophony that You alone conduct.
Even the smallest of ants labors at Your direction and live within the boundaries that You alone have set. Their holes meet the dimensions of Your master plan and each species of nature must obey You if it is to survive. The very balance of the mountains and the very rims of the oceans are determined by the whim of Your fancy.
And it is to You, this awesome Creator, the living God of all that there is, that I come and throw myself at Your feet. And there, humbled, even humiliated, in my putrid rags of self importance, my heart cries out the second question; who am I?
Who am I to enter Your presence?
Who am I to come near You?
Who am I to beg Your mercy?
Who am I in the filth I speak and do?
Who am I to plead at Your feet?
Who am I to expect Your time?
Who am I to wish for attention?
Who am I to commit such a crime?
Who am I to knock upon Your door?
Who am I to look upon Your face?
Who am I to seek Your pardon?
Who am I to deserve such grace?
Who am I to beseech Your love?
Who am I within this world?
Who am I compared to creation?
Who am I in time unfurled?
As I lay upon my face, and I see the insignificant span of time I fill, I see the multitude of lives that revolve in dependent anticipation of Your love. Who am I indeed?
And then I can do nothing but gape in Awe and wonder at Your response:-
“Come, enter into My grace.
Who are you?
You are my child,
And an heir to it all.”
