of the week. Sorting through the scrapbook of my mind for images.
Rewinding then fast forewarding through my video files of memory for something special that captured the essence.
Looking for lessons, frames that told the apt tale,
that captured that critical moment-
movement from darkness to light-
that spotlighted truth.
Then I searched The Book and found these words: "Let there be. . ."
Day, night, heaven, earth, sea, sun, moon, fish, fowl, cattle, creature.
He spoke. The miraclulous occurred,
and marveling over the work of words, He saw that "it was good." The cycle of achievement complete.
Years later, "The Word became flesh."
God proclaimed, ". . .I am well pleased," and Jesus was ordained.
God's work, good again.
What a moment of satisfaction for the Creator Father.
He spoke, it was done, and it was all good.
Achievement at its highest.
You know the feeling.
Somewhat like our Creator but more like a rearranger, poets seek to combine words and phrases that ring and make melodious meaning.
We apply words to a canvas "without form and void" and after our "six days," we admire the work of our hands, our minds and our spirits,
and we also rest.
We didn't divide the firmaments nor adorn it with a rotating sun or moon.
We did not assign fish to the sea or create man from dust,
but we replenished the earth with the gift.
We edified the body, and we enjoyed rejuvenation,
for we, too, heard that voice whispering,
"That's pretty good," and our hearts smiled.
By pouring out our spirits, we had replenished our own,
and that's also pretty good.
