When I think of outstanding, I immediately go into perfectionism. My mind goes into not good enough. According to NEW WEBSTER’S DICTIONARY , outstanding is defined as the following:
standing out; prominent; conspicuous; of debts,
unpaid; of work, etc., still to be done.
Teaching my mind to think differently takes work. Unfortunately, I suffer with perfectionism. Unless I do things perfectly, it is not good enough. The first step to letting go of this perfectionism is to recognize that I suffer with it. Although it seems strange to talk about perfectionism as
suffering, it is recognized in the Bible. Only Jesus suffered to give us the perfect sacrifice. No matter how much I try, I will never be perfect. I need to remember that only Jesus is perfect. So how can I accept being outstanding?

I choose the definition standing out and being conspicuous. I would like my writings to be outstanding. In fact, one of my past professors has written on my paper “OUTSTANDING”. Of course, initially I was not happy with that word. Because I’m becoming willing to let go of my perfectionism, I am beginning to like the word outstanding.
Are you a perfectionist too? Are you willing to let Jesus be the only perfect person? Today is a good day to start changing your attitude! Do it now!

I liked how you shared a part of yourself. I remember when I focused on trying to be perfect it led to a pretty severe eating disorder. I had to settle for doing my best while trying to remember that my best may change from moment to moment. You've done a good job of hitting on something many people can relate to.
The last paragraph felt a tad preachy to me but if that's not what you want you can easily fix it by keeping it in the first person like you did for the rest of it.
You have passion in your words and it's clear you want to spread the love of Jesus to others. Keep writing, don't get discouraged, (as a former perfectionist I understand how very hard that is to do!) and you will keep improving.
I believe with a little clean up with spacing that this would make a great devotional. Keep up the outstanding effort!
