Someone with the user name, 'Frontlawn' was asking to be my friend. He had no pictures on his page but not wanting to reject anyone who had seen my profile, including pictures of me gowned and preaching, I clicked ‘accept.’ At that time I had several friends both male and female on Big Church.
Weeks later my relationship with 'Frontlawn' had begun to turn a welcome corner from friendship into something deeper. Christmas was quite near and so I felt led of the Lord to pray, “Lord, have Ian ('Frontlawn’s' real name) invite me down to Hastings for New Years, IF you want to move us another step forward.” By this time we were spending up to four enjoyable hours an evening talking on Skype. I lived in Halesowen, England and he lived in Hastings, England about four hours apart.
Monday evening Ian and I connected on Skype and he began the conversation with the answer to my prayer, “Would you like to come down over New Years and stay a week? I am staying in my Father’s flat as he is in hospital and my flat, across the hall is available, you could sleep there.”
Unbeknown to me that morning Ian met with a Christian brother. He told Richard that he felt we needed to meet and spend some time together if our relationship was going to develop. He and Richard then prayed together about inviting me down over New Years.
My answer? A firm ‘yes.’ And so it was a few days before New Years Eve I boarded a coach for Ian, Hastings, and some time by the sea. The week passed oh so quickly and as Ian watched me enter my return coach to Halesowen, I discounted the ill feeling as just sadness, at having to say goodbye. However, within a half an hour I realized it wasn’t sadness but indeed a stomach virus and the long coach trip, changing in London, could not be borne. I rang Ian on the new phone he had given me and he told me, “Get off at the next stop, and I will come and get you.”
The following weeks cemented our relationship turning friendship into courtship. This April we will celebrate five years of marriage. The Lord gave us a portion of scripture that reminds us daily through all the weeks that He is our focus, the One Who brought us together, keeps us together, and guides our every step. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil.” Proverbs 3:5-7 NIV version.
We are glad that God's wisdom used our combined 4,020 weeks of living, to bring us together in just a matter of about 32 weeks. His wisdom always wins over time, be it long or short.

it is a good telling, maybe you could try adding a little dialogue into your stories now?
