A loud voice screamed, "Why, do I haft to write you? Why, can't we just talk on the phone? Why, won't you and Cindy tell me why you walked out on me?"
"Alice, I want to help you understand what happened," Herb calmly said.
That made Alice scream even louder, "What do you mean by that?"
Herb sighed and said, "You're upset right now, if you see it in writing it might help you to understand how to improve your life, and your family relationships."
"What is wrong with my life?" shouted Alice.
"Alice, you left an angry voice message yesterday. You"re upset about what happened at dinner. I want to help you. It would be better if you get it in written form."
Alice shook her head, "I still don"t see why we can't talk on the phone about it like two adults."
"Alice, please humor me."
"Okay, send me your letter!" Alice slammed the phone down.
Herb then went to over to my computer and sat down scratched his head and sighed. After a few minutes he started to write his letter.
Dear Alice,
I love you very much. There are three things that would help you. One, listen you don’t listen to people. We feel that all you want to do is argue. We want to have a civil conversation with you. Second, don’t scream when you talk to people. You need to have a calm tone in your voice when you talk. Third you need to apologize to every family member on how you treat them.
I love you,
Herb
A week later the phone rang, "Hello this is Herb."
Alice calmly said, "Herb, reading your letter helped me understand what I have been doing wrong. I want to say I am sorry for how I have acted. I have talked to other people. You really helped me. I just wanted to say thank you."
Herb smiled as he said, "I know that this will help you."
Alice chuckled and said, "Thank you, hey, I would like to take you out for dinner sometime."
"That would be great Alice. Good to talk to you," Herb hung up the phone.
Herb praised the Lord because he knew he changed his sister's life.

Be careful of using 'haft' when you mean 'have'. Until I got to the end, I thought Alice was his wife and Cindy was their daughter.
I'm glad that your main character stayed calm and wise through all the shouting.
