The hummingbird’s wings buzz happily, as it darts about on its way.
Rustling leaves from gentle breezes speak softly to me in the night.
The ocean waves splash the shores splattering the sands so white.
Crickets offer up a quiet serenade to lull us to tranquil sleep.
Kittens mew, softly, as they curl up safe in their mother keep.
God whispers quietly in my ear, “I am here.”
The sound of angel’s wings tell me I am safe, He is near.
I hear the rooster loudly announce the dawning of a new morn.
Truck and cars all boisterously squawk their horn.
A baby cries, as a mother tries to get the other kids on their way.
The phone rings, the microwave beeps causing my head to sway.
A whistle’s shriek announces the coming of the speeding train.
Deafening thunder and flashes of lightning call for rain.
From the whirlwind God advices, “Don’t forget, I give peace.
Give me your burdens and I will give you release.”
I hear the whimpers and wails of those that cannot speak.
The oysters, fish and shrimp lament, “Our future’s bleak.”
Dog howls reach my ears, as they call to be set free from fights.
Stray cats screech and shriek as they are abandoned in nights.
“Your killing me for my fur.” said the seal, “It is not fair.”
Starving horses neigh and snort, “Doesn’t anybody care?”
God speaks to me firmly, reminding me of our guardianship
And not to let our protection of the weaker animals slip.
I hear the unvoiced prayers of hurting people,
Rising up high above the steeple.
An old woman that hungers to hear another voice
If anyone would listen, she would gladly rejoice.
The child unloved, unwanted, abused shrinks away,
Afraid of the pain and screams that will come today.
The addict, the exploited, the homeless, the sick all call for love.
God said, “Tell them they are loved. I sent my son from above.”
I hear the voice of veterans expressing concern
That we are forgetting all the truth we learn.
They paid too much for freedom to give it up without a fight.
And they will not disappear quietly into the night.
The patriots shout “In God we trust, are not just words on a dollar.
And the voter’s right to be heard is not getting any smaller!”
God’s blessing have rested on America’s land
But it can just as easily fall if we refuse to listen to His plan.
I hear the voice of God calling me to walk in the garden.
Calls me to come near for I have received His pardon.
Friends take time to speak and listen to each other.
He sticks to my side closer than does any brother.
He pleads with me to draw near to his heart.
Word of wisdom, goodness, joy, and love that he longs to impart.
The Holy Spirit speaks to me, what is meant to be.
I listen carefully for His voice, for it is life to me.
