Topic: Oops (01/14/10)
Oops! I left my manners at home today as I was in a hurry to get to work. Please forgive me as I pray to ask the Lord to fetch them for me.
Oops! I left my optimism at that meeting back there. Where did my hope go? Where is my faith? I had them just a minute ago. I've lost all these things by the end of the day.
"What will it be", asked the bartender as I sat at his bar.
"Make it a whiskey", I say. I look around at those like me as I drink more than a few. No one's a prayin' in this place tonight. Oops! I'm drunk again.
In the morning I awake, yesterday's failures as my day's foundation. I remember to pray ‘cause nothing else works. There I have hope. Here I have none. The Lord makes them the same for me.

I too, once carried yesterday’s failures into a new day until I realized what a huge distraction the enemy was throwing at me. I wasn't able to focus on what the Lord had for me with each new day and therefore wasn't growing in my Christian walk. What a blessing we are able to communicate with Him through prayer!
