He wore the same plain brown suit every day, with an extra-wide matching brown tie.
He plodded the same tired path week after week.
Mr. Brown liked it that way.
He didn’t like to feel displaced, disheveled, disorganized.
Sometimes life would come in blustering torrents that caused disarray.
It would threaten to wash away his well ordered routines or blow his methodical customs far into the horizon.
Mr. Brown really hated that.
One day while Mr. Brown was marching along his daily trajectory he noticed something new.
‘Someone’ new.
She wore a stylish skirt-suit in a brilliant shade of green that reminded Mr. Brown of frogs. Her hair was tied back with a long pale yellow scarf that fluttered in the wind.
Mr. Brown stopped abruptly in his trench.
She looked at him. And smiled.
Mr. Brown smiled back.
Miss Green had been wandering a long time.
She was looking for a place to put down roots.
She wanted somewhere—someone—with substance.
Miss Green joined Mr. Brown on his path.
They talked.
And laughed.
Soon Mr. Brown could not consider continuing any longer without Miss Green by his side.
They were made for each other.
She became Mrs. Green-Brown.
She made his dreary life sparkle.
She held him together when life came with it’s torrents.
She brought him new life.
Together, for themselves and those around them, they made the world better.
Brighter.
In a way that they could never have done apart.
