Draw me into your stillness Lord God.
Teach me your wisdom,
Lead me into your truth.
Set forward your perfect plan
For this next phase of my life.
I come to you weak and fragile,
Broken by the troubles of life.
Yet still I come,
To sit at the foot of your throne,
To receive your comfort,
To receive your healing
Your mercy and forgiveness.
And you welcome me with your love,
As the father to the prodigal son.
You kill the fatted calf,
Each time I retreat into you.
For you delight in my company
And call me your friend.
And in the stillness of this time,
You reveal your desire
For me to be intimate with you.
Not holding you at a distance,
Not running away and turning back
But the passionate intimacy of lover and beloved.
I respond to your call
To make that journey into you.
To become intimate.
Draw me ever closer,
Deeper into your love.
Until that day when you call me
To make that final, eternal
Retreat into you.
