We want to spend it with our families and friends. We really intend to. We have community events and charities we try to spend it on. We actually plan to. We even complain that we don’t have enough of it.
Although we are not aware of it, time is our own worst enemy. We can’t harness it. We can’t control it. We can’t seem to catch up with it or slow down for it. Time has it’s own mind and is determined. It won’t wait and once it is gone, it is not coming back. We take it for granted and yet we still think we can always find it!
We need to learn to respect time. We can and should develop a friendship with it. We can learn to work with it. We can allow it to work for us and utilize its’ many benefits.
It will allow us to observe and serve, to care and share, to stay and pray. It will give us an opportunity to think and also allow us the habit of thoughtfulness.
Time can usher us into the twilight years of life where we will reflect on our life choices. We could realize our friendship with time was the BEST choice we ever made.
If managed wisely, time will allow us to do and see the things that matter most. It will grant us great memories of years well spent.
After all, time gifts us with the twilight years of life. How we treat time today will determine the magnitude of that gift.
