OUR BLESSING IS EACH OTHER

We’ve always tried to stay physically active, but Father time has a way of slowing down the pace. Your children have been such a joy watching each one fulfill their dreams and start families of their own. Now our grandchildren are such a tremendous blessing.

My wonderful wife has been God’s special gift to me. She has stuck by me through thick and thin. Honestly without her I don’t believe I’d still be here. Now we’ve been married thirty seven years….boy does time fly! The saying that opposites attract, to that I say Amen.

When you’re young the physical attraction is a very powerful player in the relationship, but as the years pass you discover the adhesive that has bound your marriage. God reveals to you the feelings for that person that characterize true love. Caring for your loved one’s needs, devoting yourself to make the marriage a 50/50 proposition and having an attentive ear and an open heart.

Someone you can pour your heart out to and have a good cry with. Whether it’s a evening walk, a romantic old movie, a game of scrabble, playing with the family pets, enjoying a great meal or those intimate cherished moments, getting old is unavoidable, but if your spouse is your best friend these times together can definitely be the best.

God planned your journey together before the foundation of the earth and everything in your life together contributed to the special love that has made you the couple you are today.

If your life has been centered in the Lord Jesus these twilight years are just the launching pad into eternity with our Creator. Hold that person’s hand everyday, give them a hug everyday, kiss them as passionately as you did on that first date, look into their eyes and tell them that they are your world and you wouldn’t want to grow old with anyone else.

Your hair may be gray, your face wrinkled and your body aches show up on a regular basis, but hey my friend that’s life.
Cherish every moment, every sunrise, every moonlit night, every beautiful walk together and thank God for this treasure who’s holding your hand. Honey I Love You…..I Love You too!
