Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Empty and Full (06/04/09)
With every passing day, I look around and see how much I have to be thankful for. My children are so beautiful and healthy. I have a wonderful husband that works so hard to provide for our family. I have a roof over my head. We have clothes to wear. There is never a meal that we have had to do without. I am able to use the ears, eyes, nose, legs, hands that God gave me, yet inside something is missing. I feel so hollow inside. Everyday seems as though I am just going through the motions. God, please help me. I don’t know what could be wrong with me. I close my eyes, and silently start to pray, “ God, Lord are you here?” I wait for a while in silence, then I begin to pray again, “ Lord I can’t feel you. I have been working so hard for you. I tell my children about you, we are at church every week. Why are you not here when I need you?” After a moment, I heard a soft answer in my ear, “ Child, I have never left you. I am always here. The emptiness you feel is the place where I used to be. You see, you have been so very busy doing things for me, and telling people about me, that you have left me out your life. I am all that is missing. I still love you, and have been just waiting for you to call out to me. I can’t push myself on you. I love you to much.”
With this answer my heart starts to break. The tears stream down my face. “ Lord, I am so sorry, please forgive me. Please let your presence fill me once again, do a work within me and work through me, that I may change the situations around me. Let your love consume me. Thank you Lord. Amen.”

Thanks for the reminder that I need to keep Him first. You had a tense shift when God spoke to you that jarred my focus, but it was a nice meditation.

There is a profound truth in this entry. Sometimes we try so hard to serve God when all we're really doing is "doing what we want". God just sits back and shakes his head. Glad your MC had the humility to figure this one out.
