I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
How many of us can be described by this passage. We are lukewarm in our lives; we live in the grey areas, not in the light and not in the darkness. We debate about the right and the wrongs in life but we do not always act on the rights.
When you are a child of God one should be in the hot area. Our love for God should burn inside us so that the light that shins from us is bright enough to guide others to God.
When that flame goes cold inside us, because of circumstances, problems and loss of faith we stand the risk of loosing our way and it is not possible to guide others if we ourselves can’t see the way.
It is very easy to keep the flame burning, circumstances is in our and God’s power to change. No problem is every to big for God. Place your trust in Him give Him your troubles and problems and the solution will come. If you loos your faith, do not run from God but turn to Him, trust Him and believe in Him for He is the only way.
God don’t want us to be lukewarm in our service to Him, He wants us to be passionate and all fired up, and we should be happy and rejoicing in His name. Not sitting in the corner and hoping that live will pass quickly so that we can go to Him.
‘If only we can keep our heads down and our mouths shut, no one will notice me and can I live my life even if it is only an half life.’
I felt like this for years. But thank God He ignited the fire in me and now I can’t keep quite anymore, I don’t want to anymore. We should stop wishing our lives over and start asking for more time because there is so much work to do and still so many people still sleepwalking in that grey area.
