Using what we are familiar with to explain the unseen will lead me into drawing allegory between the kingdom of God and the natural kingdoms around us now called state. Kingdom, as it is simply put is king and his domain. The kingdom of God is therefore the domain of God and the King Jesus presiding over it. It is physically represented on earth by the Church regardless of denominational diversity.
In every kingdom (state) there are statues and laws regulating the activities of the inhabitants. There are structures in places and officers appointed to administer such structures. There are remunerations attached to the offices. There are prerequisites demanded from new entrants into the domain. There are also duties and responsibilities for the inhabitants.
If we can apply these into the kingdom of God you will agree with me that certain things are missing from the supposed kingdom of God which is the Church of God . I have observed so many missing good from the news of today’s Church. Without prejudice, I am particularly appalled by what I have seen in the Charismatic movement where I belong. I have seen the doctrinal emphasis of the Church adjusted in line with the capitalist system of the world. It is not an error if balanced, after all, the Bible talks of things that accompany salvation; I believe that prosperity is one of them. Yet,there are more abominable things going on in the kingdom as, the issue of same sex marriage that is raging in the church. An issue like that should not have been mentioned at all. It is the peak of depravity for anybody to have even conceived such a thought in the first place. Such people should go and learn from the beast and find out whether he has ever seen animals of the same sex mating.
Thanks to God, Jesus Christ in control of the Kingdom of his father Colosians 2: 14. He has spelled out the requirement for all new entrants –You must be born again-The qualification looks too simple compared to the conditions to be met before you can be permitted into the United States of America .
Nevertheless, keeping the laws or assimilating the culture of the kingdom of God is where would-be–members encounter struggles. Give a typical youth of Africa the chance to travel to United States of America he would copy the culture of the place in no time, within six months if he comes back home he would begin to speak American slang but give the same person six years of dwelling in the kingdom of God (Christianity) he would still be battling with the necessity to do away with sin. Most will even colour it and tag those who teach about sin as legalists.
The brand of Members of the kingdom we have around in this 21st century seem to have had the word sin expunged from their own statue book and replaced with prosperity anyhow !
I mean the worldliness that has taken over the kingdom whereby she has totally adopted the culture of the unbelieving kingdom instead of being model to them in the way she conducts her affairs calls for a reform. The members of the kingdom must urgently turn to their own constitutional book (the Bible) and let it guide so they can fulfill their role of seasoning the fast decaying world. As members of the kingdom we must stand on the highway and look for the old path to walk in it. God has not changed and can not changed. If he hated sin in the Old Testament, He still hates it now, though method may change approach may change the principles remain the same.
