Topic: Asia (02/26/09)
Well Rounded Trip

If any of you remember me from previous writings, it was not me! I am Lucy’s clone.
However; I am beginning to get the hang of this writing business. This is after all my third article. I can tell you in all honesty, that I am having a blast!

Some have even read my articles. Imagine that. Now I would do much better if Lucy would take some time off. One thing I can say for her; she is faithful. She’s always around to assist me.

I know the subject is on Asia. I finally developed the talent to write on the right topic.
I have been questioning Lucy to see if she knew about Asia, I didn’t think it was wrong to ask for help on a subject. I’m happy to say it was helpful. Looking up information on Asia kept her out of my hair for a few days.

However, all good things must come to an end, and so it did. Lucy did return all excited to report back to me. She had info on Asia. She said she didn’t even have to look it up, because she’d been there once with Ethel. In fact she said they did a TV show from Asia. The script called for them to stomp grapes. Listen, I’m telling you she has to be watched all the time.

Now it is a good thing I wasn’t born yesterday. I happen to remember the show she’s speaking of, and she wasn’t in Asia. I think it was in France or Italy. Does anyone know?

I do know an interesting fact about something that happened during World War ll. It involves the Navajo and the Cherokee Indians. I am well aware the Indians aren’t the topic, but they played a very important part in winning the war. Actually, many tribes were involved.

I will explain how and what occurred. The Japanese was very good at breaking the codes being sent from one unit to another, or any message sent by the Armed Forces. Secrecy codes were being broken frequently. But, they were never able to break the Navajo Code Talkers. Many Native Americans gave their lives in Asia serving our country. Code talking is called ’Cryptology.’ If you ever go to Asia I wouldn’t mention it.


I apologize if I’m disruptive to the other Writers 500, please be informed, I am improving. Look, the White House has Helen Thomas, Faith Writers’ has me. How much better can it get.

I saw that movie! Fascinating piece of history. Disruptive, are you? I don't know—I kind of appreciated the droll humor.

An interesting piece, I'm not sure that I caught all of the humour.
As a general rule, we recommend that writers don't refer directly to the Challenge in their entries. One of the reasons for this is that your story could be selected for publication in a FaithWriters Best Of compilations and the reader might not be familiar with the web site.
If you haven't already done so, let me encourage you to read a number of our entries from Beginner's and to leave comments for your fellow writers. That way, we can all learn together.
