Romans 1:20 - NIV
On a narrow country road or a 6 lane highway,
“Reminders of Jesus” is a great game to play,
Symbols and clues are quite easy to find,
So many things about Him come to mind
The rules of the game are simple as can be,
Keep your eyes peeled to see what you can see,
Explain why things remind you of our Lord,
Focusing on Him keeps us from being bored,
Cross roads remind us that he once died,
Rain drops on windows because He cried,
Tall Christmas trees pointing to heaven above,
Keep looking for rainbows and maybe a dove,
He planted reminders throughout His Creation,
Like (1)Mickey heads at Walt Disney’s plantation,
So with Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior,
This game can help smooth our behavior,
Knowing what the Bible has to say,
Helps throughout life and as you play.
Reminders of Jesus are everywhere,
How we ignore them is (not) quite clear!
It’s quite clear that we live in a self centered society. Take a look at today’s car trip and we’ll see young ones watching a DVD, teens playing game-boy or listening to whatever through headphones, dad thinking about his golf game or who knows what, and mom has enough worries to fill a huge parking lot. Honestly, can you imagine a family playing our “Reminders of Jesus” game, thinking and talking about our Lord for hours? Families beware: one acrostic for SIN is Selfish Independent Nature of man, which is totally opposite of His Divine Nature and Plan.
Let’s open our eyes and hearts to Him with some fear,
Don’t be surprised when He whispers in your ear,
“Loving My Father with all you’ve got is the only way,
To find contentment and joy on earth day by day.”
1. Looking for Mickey heads throughout Disney World or Disney Land is a game people do play.
