Take a look up yonder…
There’s a church on a hill.
It is old and simple,
Yet a light shineth still.
Come let’s take a closer look.
What gives it such a glow?
Why does this church seem different?
Does anybody know?
They call their church a lampstand.
The home of Christ they say.
The Word of God shines light for life
that they follow everyday.
All the members take a part
to pray and persevere.
They share God’s love with others,
with hope its truth is clear.
Each member’s like a little light
within the body-string.
One cannot burn out or dim;
Each life’s contributing.
Dissension would entangle them,
while sin would snuff them out.
But God’s laws beam forth from their hearts,
and by faith they have no doubts.
With gifts of varying color,
together they’ll shine bright.
Each one must stay unified
to be glorious in God’s sight.
Lights of Christ we all must be
for a world to decorate.
After all for us who would forget,
eternal life God did create?
